An introduction
We wish to reach out to and encourage others to discover their God given gifts through the power of the Holy Spirit. Through Him, anything is possible and therefore he deserves all of the honor and the praise. We also share some basic beliefs about the word of God.
We believe in the Trinity which includes God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is our father in heaven, and everything is created by Him. We also believe Jesus is the Son of God, born by Mary, who was a virgin at birth. Through Christ's resurrection we have been saved, and he has sent the Holy Spirit to comfort us until his return.
While we await his return, we help our community and make a difference through our many gifts and continuous worship.
Our vision
We wish to make a difference in people’s lives through the power of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We also wish to help others discover their God given gifts.
History
The church began when Sister Cassandra Cohran discovered an organization called Empower Refuge on Merton Street in Binghampton which she visited alongside Sister Mary Johnson and Mother Pinkie Greer. They soon secured a worship space and the offer was finalized by Pastor Davis of St.Matthews United Methodist Church. Soon after, A Worship Experience Christian Center was created on March 16, 2015.
John 4:24 “God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth.”
The ladies quickly went to work preparing the sanctuary for worship, and Minister Cohran became the spiritual leader and pastor of the church on April 5, 2015.
On Sunday March 22, 2015, the first Sunday School class was taught and the message was "Receive the Holy Spirit; John 20:19-23". The first worship service was also done this day, and Pastor Jeff Cohran preached alongside Pastor Joe Hunter. The sermon was "There is No Ain't in God; Ephesians 3:13,24". Four members were present.
This beginning has lead us to where we are today, and we continue to grow in the Holy Spirit.
